Admission Criteria



Students Seeking admission to programs of GMU need to meet the following eligibility criteria.

1. As notified by the Government of Karnataka from time to time

2. The candidate shall have passed two years Pre-University Examination conducted by Board of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State or 12th Standard or its equivalent recognised by the University with English as one of the languages and Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as the optional subjects.

3. The candidate should have obtained at least 50% mark. However, in the case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST/CAT-1, marks shall not be less than 45%.

4. Admission to II year/ III semester bachelor’s degree in engineering/ technology (Lateral Entry) shall be open to the candidates who are holders of a diploma or equivalent qualification as recognized by university and the student should have obtained at least 50% mark. However, in the case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST/CAT-1, marks shall not be less than 45%.

M. Tech. programs

General Criteria:

1. As notified by the Government of Karnataka from time to time.

2. Admission to M Tech course shall be open to candidates who have passed BE / BTech Examination from UGC recognised University in related engineering domain with not less than 50% of the marks in aggregate of all the semesters.

3. However, in the case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST/CAT-1, marks shall not be less than 45%.

Specific Criteria:

Candidate shall have a valid GATE Score/PGCET Score/GMUSET Score
Faculty of Computing and IT
BCA/B.Sc.

1. BCA- Computer Applications

2. BSC- Data Science

3. BSc- AI and Data Analytics

4. BSc- Computer Science

1. As notified by the Government of Karnataka from time to time

2. A candidate who has passed the two years Pre-University Examination conducted by Board of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State or any other 10+2 boards of any state in India or its equivalent recognised by the UGC

3. Any student who has passed PUC – II Science, Arts or Commerce securing a minimum of 40% of marks. However, in the case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST/CAT-1, Marks shall not be less than 35%

4. A candidate who has passed JODC – with mathematics, Accountancy, Computer Science, and Electronics as one of the subjects studied / Three years Diploma in Engineering of Government of Karnataka or any other examination considered as equivalent thereto shall be eligible for admission.
MCA/MSc

1. MCA- Computer Applications

2. MSc- Data Science

3. MSc- AI and Data Analytics

4. MSc- Cyber Security

1. As notified by the Government of Karnataka from time to time

2. The candidates are to be qualified either in PGCET or GMUSET conducted by GMU for getting direct admission.

3. A candidate who has passed the BCA/B.Sc./B. Com/B.B.M. Degree Examination of any University recognized thereto and has secured not less than 50%

4. In case of SC/ST/Cat-1 candidates, there will be a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate of marks obtained.

3. In case of SC/ST/Cat- I candidates, there will be a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate of marks obtained.

BCom/BBA

1. B Com Accounting and Finance

1. M Com Accounting and Taxation

2. A candidate who has passed the B. Com/B.B.M. Degree Examination of any University recognized thereto and has secured not less than 50%

3. In case of SC/ST/Cat I candidates, there will be a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate of marks obtained.

MBA

1. MBA General Management

2. MBA Innovation and Entrepreneurship

3. MBA International Business

4. MBA Agricultural Marketing

1. As notified by the Government of Karnataka from time to time

2. A graduate degree under 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern under any discipline securing at least 50% marks in aggregate including languages from a recognized university in India or abroad.

3. In case of SC/ST/CAT-I candidates, there will be a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate of marks obtained.

4. Candidate should have GMUSET score

Faculty of Legal Studies
BCom LLB

BA LLB
1. As notified by the Government of Karnataka from time to time

2. A candidate who has passed the two years Pre-University Examination conducted by Board of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State or any other 10+2 boards of any state in India or its equivalent recognised by the UGC

3. Any student who has passed PUC – II Science, Arts or Commerce securing a minimum of 40% of marks in aggregate.

4. Candidate should have GMUSET score

LLB 1. As notified by the Government of Karnataka from time to time

2. A graduate degree under 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern under any discipline securing at least 50% marks in aggregate including languages from a recognized university in India or abroad.

3. In case of SC/ST/CAT-I candidates, there will be a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate of marks obtained.

4. Candidate should have GMUSET score

Faculty of Health and Allied Sciences
D. Pharm 1. As notified by the Government of Karnataka, Board of Examination Authority, Bengaluru and PCI-New Delhi from time to time

2. Candidates who have passed two years Pre-University Examination conducted by Board of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State or any equivalent examination of any other approved Board or university with not less than 35% marks in any combination comprising P.C.M or P.C.B (minimum eligibility should be based on the aggregate of P.C.M. or P.C.B) or P.C.M..B, PC and computer Sciences, P.C and Electronic

3. Candidate should have GMUSET score

B. Pharm. 1. As notified by the Government of Karnataka, RGUHS and PCI from time to time

2. Candidates who have passed two years Pre-University Examination conducted by Board of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State or any equivalent examination of any other approved Board or university with not less than 45% marks in any combination comprising P.C.M or P.C.B (minimum eligibility should be based on the aggregate of P.C.M. or P.C.B) or P.C.M.B, PC and computer Sciences, P.C and Electronics

3. In case of students belonging to SC/ST/ or Category-I, the minimum percentage of marks for admission to B. Pharm Course shall be not less than 40% in P.U.C or its equivalent examination (P.C.B. or P.C.M. or P.C.M.B) P.C and Computer Science, P.C and Electronics. 4. Candidates who have passed D. Pharmacy course with not less than 50% aggregate approved by Pharmacy Council of India shall also be eligible for this course and shall be admitted directly to II- Yr

B. Pharm course 10% over and above the sanctioned intake and shall have to study Mathematics, Computer science & Statistics of I Yr- B. Pharm in addition to the II Yr- B. Pharm subjects
