Oriental Group of Institutes has a state of the art Soft Skills Training Dept, which teaches prospective candidates about the vital soft skills that are necessary for them if they plan for long innings in the corporate world
Below, we are providing a list of soft skills we provide and a brief insight into the details:

English Grammar: Fluency in spoken English is nowadays a non-negotiable soft skill for most firms. Most companies operate on a national or international basis nowadays and good verbal skills in English is a must for employees, especially if they are in a job, that involves much public interaction – describing a product/service or project to many people at large.
So if you are a candidate who is not much comfortable in English, it can harm your competence/efficiency level. Here at Oriental Group of Institutions, highly experienced faculty members will help you develop formidable English speaking skills through regular debates, extempore, speech exercises etc. According to experts, the more you speak in a particular language, the more articulate you become in that language. So the faculty ensures that you participate in as many speech exercises as possible.

Aptitude Building: Most of the renowned firms or recruitment agencies take several assessment tests/aptitude tests for shortlisting candidates for personal interviews. Aptitude is basically your ability to solve a problem creatively, your ability to analyse data etc.

Aptitude tests become even more significant if you are from an engineering background, as the IT firms want engineers who have maximum problem-solving potential. Training cell of Oriental Group of Institutes offers extensive aptitude building training, where you can brush up your pie chart solving skills, percentage basics, pattern recognition etc.

Competitive Coding: This is a very important skill, as most jobs will require you at some point to work in a team. Competitive programming helps you learn how to effectively work together, as you must work with others on your team to complete the same task. You learn how to assess your team members’ strength and weaknesses and effectively divide responsibilities amongst each other and make you a desirable candidate for major companies. All big IT companies always have a look and they pick the candidates with high potential and with the best ability to solve complex tasks.

Interpersonal & Communication Skills: As long as people work together, they will need to communicate and do it well. During the personal interview round, the interviewer will check your communication skills. If you are good at it, then you can shape your thoughts better and convince them that you are the right candidate for their profile. The recruiter also understands that it will be easier for other people to work with you as you have clarity in your thoughts and speech

Personality Development: Personality development is one of the most important aspects of training sessions, wherein the Training Cell organizes a series of tests and workshops to recognize their talent and shortcomings. The main aim of the Training Cell is to groom students so that they can deal with challenging situations at work. Since pre-placement time can be quite daunting, these sessions also help in motivating the students by conducting various workshops on how to increase their self-esteem.

Group Discussions: Group discussions have become an integral part of the hiring process. Companies select students for the final interview round on the basis of their performance in the group discussion. One of the best ways to study the attitudinal and behavioural responses of the participants, group discussions are more of an interaction than a conventional test. The Training and Placement Cell conducts mock group discussions to develop confidence, communication skills, teamwork (how you manage and engage fellow participants) and technical knowledge of the subject.

Technical Interview Practices: Intensive training on technical and core knowledge of all the streams is provided through special classes and the subjects are chosen from all the previous semesters and the nature of the training is like a refresher course.

CV Writing Skills: Your resume is a summation of your achievements, skills, education background etc. Most of the resumes are piled up on the HR desks and unless you make your CV stand out, they will most probably gain just a cursory glance and trashed into the bin. They say the first impression is the last. It is so true about your resume. When the recruiter hasn't seen you, he has seen your resume. Make sure, it stands out! Training cell will teach you how to make your CV more attractive and striking (and of course relevant to the position you are vying for) during the pre-placement training, which begins from day one

Personal Interview: One of the most crucial steps to get hired by your dream company is to excel in the final rounds of personal interviews. While some companies schedule 2-3 rounds of interviews including technical and HR interviews, a few select students on the basis of panel interview round and Skype interview. The Training and Placement Cell train’s students on important interview skills related to dressing code, confidence, and creativity, ability to react and respond, and handle stress.
