Aim & Summary

The aim of the course is to provide a comprehensive understanding of the foundational concepts of the finite element method. The course aims to equip students with the knowledge of FEA and ansys solver using ansys workbench. The course which leads to students to understand the basic concepts of FEA and CAE , in this course student can gain the knowledge of meshing and analysis .

Course Content
Week 1 Introduction to CAE, general working of FEA, about FEA, types of engineering analysis , classification of materials.
Week 2 Introduction to ansys workbench, starting of ansys workbench, GUI of ansys workbench and starting of sketcher.
Week 3 Sketching and Part Modeling in Design Modeler, sketcher overview and 2D sketches creations. TUTORIAL
Week 4 Introduction to part modeling : part modeling overview, creation of 3D models. TUTORIAL

QUIZ 1

Week 5 Introduction to Part modeling : creation of line element, creation of surface and creation of 3D models TUTORIAL
Week 6 Placed features and Assembly TUTORIAL
Week 7 Modeling techniques, overview, introduction, adding hole, chamfer and round and practice
Week 8 Defining material properties, introduction to engineering workpaces, creating and adding materials, assigning the material to the beam, assigning material to the clamp, assigning material to the assembly. TUTORIAL

QUIZ 2

Week 9 Meshing, Introduction, Meshing plate with holes, generating he mesh, optimize the model and local mesh, assembly meshing.
Week 10 Static structural analysis of: cantilever beam and bracket and TUTORIAL
Week 11 Natural frequencies of cantilever beam and simply supported beam and TUTORIAL
Week 12 buckling loads and thermal analysis and TUTORIAL and CFD introduction

Course Certification

Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup. It will have the logos of GMU and company handling the course.
